Musical Endeva

Musical Endeva

I attempt to write somthin cleva
about a musical endeva

As I wake up and look into the light
I wait for an image that's right
to guide my flight
into this unknown world of smiling faces
the dangerous places
the hustle and the bustle of the rat races
but whats different in my case is
I turn off the noise of the street
While I move my feet
to a smooth as beat
of rhythm and blues
countin the 1’s and 2’s
of this melody that’s got me bemused
and this is my chance to pay my dues
to the sweet sounds I let flow inside me
to the melody that guides me
along the crowded streets beside me
and around the tall buildings that hide me
from the bright sunbeams illuminating the sky
and through this melody I do more than try
to fly that high
I get that high

As soon as I hear the first lick of the base
My heart starts to race
While the drums kick in and keep the pace
And now the rythems flowing
So I start showing
All that I’m knowing
About the riff of a high hat
The hip hop beat that’s so phat
The doo wop that puts that
Snap in yo finger
And bump in yo hip
I’m bitin my lip
And tryin to grip
The hip this beat puts in “hip-nosis”
Pressin the phones to my ears now I’m learnin through osmosis
And I can’t figure out just what the proper dose is
So I’m overloading on these tracks
Boogy-in behind your backs
Listenin to the sound of the new jacks

And I gotta say
This rhythm has got me to stay
And all I wanna do is play
This track over again

What you thought I was done?
Shit, I’m just getting started
Describin the lyrics of the broken hearted
The dearly departed
And about the MC’s that recognized their dreams and darted
From their home town
To the big city lights
Rappin and writin into endless nights
While keepin their sights
On new musical heights

I’m talkin bout rhymes for “Ms. Fat Booty”
Independent women buyin their own rings
Digable Planets “A Nickel  Bag of Funk”
And Lauryn Hill’s “That Thing,” that thing that thiiiiing

The lyrics Eve spits when she wants to know who’s that girl
While Luda wants to know what’s your fantasy
Aaliyah wants to rock the boat
While J.T. just wants to rock your body

I’m tellin ya’ll
I’m digging on everything from Talib’s “Just to Get By”
To Afroman’s “Because I Got High”
From the old school tribe to the new fun vibe
It ain’t hard to describe the feelins these beats put inside me
And although it may seem appealing to some
I won’t give away that secret inside you
That can find that rhythm too

A feeling you carry with you always and foreva
I hope you’ve enjoyed this musical endeva
